Egyptian Cotton

Referring to the extra-long staple cotton produced in Egypt due to the warm climate, Mood’s collection of high-quality Egyptian Cotton Fabrics by the yard provides outstanding durability and softness.

The Gossypium Barbadense species is the source of Egyptian cotton. This is the same plant that Pima cotton is derived from. However, cotton grown in Egypt has longer fibres than cotton grown in other countries. These lengthy fibres are spun into exceptionally fine threads, and the resulting fabric is of the highest calibre. A higher thread count indicates that the fabric will feel dense and opulent and will last longer. Thread count is the number of threads in each square inch. A fabric with a lower thread count will be softer and more flexible.
